Megan Kullnat

Dr. Megan Kullnat joined our practice in 2011. She studied child psychology at Smith College in Massachusetts, and attended medical school at Oregon Health and Science University. Dr. Kullnat completed her residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Dr. Kullnat is the fourth generation in a family of physicians. Her great-grandfather, grandfather and father were all family physicians in Oregon. She was inspired to become a physician by her wonderful role models, but chose pediatrics because of her love of children. Dr. Kullnat decided she wanted to become a pediatrician when she was eight years old and never wavered from that goal. In fact, her father was the first to teach her to suture at age 10. She feels very fortunate to spend time with her own children at home, and her patients at the office. She is involved with the Allegro Pediatrics Workforce Committee, and is the Vice-President of the North Pacific Pediatric Society (NPPS), where she helps organize conferences for other physicians' continued medical education. Dr. Kullnat is also a physician liaison for a Healthy Start Advisory Committee, which provides education for underserved teenage mothers. Dr. Kullnat was named a 2022 Bloomberg Fellow. The Bloomberg Fellows Program is a groundbreaking initiative through the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health that provides world-class public health training to individuals engaged with organizations tackling critical challenges facing the nation: addiction and overdose, adolescent health, environmental challenges, obesity and the food system, and violence. Dr. Kullnat is married to a fellow physician, and together they have three children. As a student, she traveled and participated in international mission/relief trips. Though the age of her children limits that now, she hopes to return to it when they are older. Dr. Kullnat is passionate about language and cultural diversity. She is fluent in French and proficient in Spanish. Her children are being raised to be bilingual in Spanish, and she hopes to someday speak Spanish as well as they do. Dr. Kullnat enjoys spending time at their family cabin near Hood River, completing home remodel projects, gardening, cooking, running, and doing yoga in her free time.
